Piano Moving & Storage Tips to Alert Consumers about the proper handling of their invaluable pianos.

Pianos are very sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity levels.  It's very important that the piano is transported and stored in a climate-controlled environment.  Our trucks are specially designed for piano moving and are equipped with climate-control.  No other piano moving company has this equipment and we guarantee the safest move for your piano on a hot summer day and cold, rainy winter day as well.

When your piano is being moved, please make sure your piano movers are insured specialists in moving upright and grand pianos only.  Furniture movers and haulers are not usually trained to handle pianos and regularly damage pianos.  Many Furniture moving and storage companies are on our list of clients for post-moving damage repairs.   The cost of piano repair is far greater than the cost of professional piano moving, so please beware of amateurs.  Your piano movers must have a copy of insurance paperwork for you, with your name and address printed.

Please check the piano moving equipment before your piano is taken out and make sure that the piano is secured properly inside the piano moving truck.  The average upright piano weighs greater than 300 lbs., and a baby grand piano weighs over double that.  Some concert grands weigh in excess of 1000 lbs.  Baby Grand and Grand pianos must be secured on to a piano board, specially designed to contain and protect the piano.  Your piano will be carefully wrapped and legs and pedals placed into specially-designed padded carrying bags.   The piano's weight must be carefully maneuvered around your home stairs, building, and property.  Property damage is very costly and it's best to use insured professionals to help prevent damage, and if damage occurs, the insurance must cover all aspects.

Check prices.  Many companies give you a price for piano moving and then add surcharges, toll charges, fuel expenses, difficult turn and rough terrain charges, even charges for disassembly and assembly of the piano.  Call us for an immediate price quote on your local piano moving at (800)33-TUNER or submit a form for long distance piano moving by clicking the link below
